CardMaker: Scrap Paper/Finished Card Storage Tip

Hello, friends! And welcome to my newest friends who might be stopping by from the CardMaker blog!!!

Today I'm sharing how I store my scrap papers (patterned papers and plain colored cardstock). This idea is simple and cheap---- which means I can buy more patterned paper pads with my saved money 🤑
Here's a sneak peek of what I use, part of my paper pad collection (you might not think this has to do with my storage tip, but it does! LOL!!), and a finished card using scrap papers and pieces!
I would love for you to stop by the CardMaker blog for all the details and more photos--- click HERE!

Paper Smooches challenge- November 2017 #3

Hello, friends:}
Today I'm sharing a project for the Paper Smooches "FALL" challenge for November. Any thing that has to do with FALL can be entered in the challenge. Here are some ides:  colors, leaves, pumpkins, Thank You cards, Thanksgiving cards, words like "fall", "Autumn", "sweater"... and MORE!
Picture: Credit HERE

I created this card using some papers I purchased at JoAnns. I didn't have a design... just fussy cut the animal friends and then added the leaves/clothes pin and then the cork banner. I knew it needed a sentiment so I die cut "Thank You" and thought I was done... but then I found the rest of the sentiment and knew it would be the perfect touch! The dilemma was trying to figure out which colored cardstock to use as the background for it! LOL! I used the following PS stamps/dies: We Adore YouThank You die,  Flag Tags diesLG Leavesand Leaves 1 dies.

That's it for me today! I hope you will join in the fun--- you could win a $50 gift certificate to the PS store! Be sure to stop by HERE to link up and play along:)

Paper Smooches challenge- November 2017 #2

Hello, friends:}

I did some watercoloring today with an embossed PS leaf image---it's kind of hard to see... I guess I should have made the outline a bit darker. I die cut the sentiment, but it STAYED in the paper! So I die cut the sentiment again in black and added it to the top for dimension. EASY! I used the following PS stamps/dies: Large Leaves and Thanks So Much.

That's it for me today! I hope you will join in the fun--- you could win a $50 gift certificate to the PS store! Be sure to stop by HERE to link up and play along:)

CardMaker + Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® blog hop

Hello, friends!

Welcome to Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® + CardMaker® Magazine blog ONE day blog hop and giveaway

Do you have foil, glitter, embossing powder and microbeads in your stash? We can show you new uses for them! "Wear Your Adhesives on the Outside" uses Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® products with different mediums to create designs. Let me show you how!
I received products from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® for use in my projects. The opinions are completely my own.

I have been planning my project for a couple of weeks, and I wanted to use either glitter or foil for my design----after seeing the small Thin 3D Foam Squares, my idea for a pixelated image was the winner! I love these Thin 3D Foam Squares because they are super sticky, which is great for grabbing glitter and holding it in place, and they add great dimension.

Here's how I created this card:

  1. Create cardbase using white cardstock and washi tape. Set it aside.
  2. Die cut your cardstock using the Paper Smooches Cross Stitch die.
  3. Create a pixel image using the smaller Thin 3D Foam Squares and die cut cardstock as the grid-- if you need a bit of help with a design, search Pinterest or the internet for "cross-stitch" images, "pixel images", etc. This was how I found the cactus image. **NOTE: I used a small pointed tool to pick up my foam squares and to place them perfectly on my die cut cardstock piece! It was very helpful!
  4. Add "color" and interest to your Thin 3D Foam Squares by removing the release paper and adding glitter. The glitter will stick to the top of the Thin 3D Foam SquaresTip#1: remove small sections of the release paper to ensure that the correct color of glitter is attached to that section. Tip#2: Use multiple hues of one color to give your image shading and a 3D look. Tip#3: Use a spoon to scoop your glitter from the container to your Thin 3D Foam Squares. And use a tub to collect all the excess glitter:)
  5. Use your finger to rub the glitter into the adhesive on the Thin 3D Foam Squares and tap off the excess glitter into your tub.
  6. Repeat this process for the entire image.
  7. Add Premium Double-Sided Tape 1/2in Permanent to the back of this cardstock to attach to your card base.
  8. Finish your card by adding a sentiment on vellum. **NOTE: I used small pointed scissors to cut my Thin 3D Foam Squares into super tiny strips. Then I placed these on the back of the vellum where the sentiment was stamped. You can see in the photo below that I cut one square into 4 pieces and used 2 on the sentiment.
And that's it!

I'm back in the studio, and I've been sharing my Virtual Smooches videos over on the VS blog with just sneak peeks here...so I created a post with all of my October videos and creations-- just in case you've missed any!

I have to say that being in my NEW studio is grrrrrrrrrrrrreat! However, it's so hard learning how to use my equipment again! The sound is different... the lighting is off... the camera moves EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I do anything! It's so weird and I feel like a newbie at this. My apologies for all the craziness in these first videos!

***Be sure to change your settings to HD before watching! THANKS:)
